A great English teaching tip is to use an anchor during feedback sessions. You can use them for any kind of teaching environment and they are a fantastic little trick to help you manage group classes. What are anchors and why are they useful? Anchors are soft objects (balls, hats, stuffed animals) that students throw around in the classroom to interact with each other. This is a great classroom management technique because it takes the teacher out of the equation and allows the students to interact with each other more freely. They are most effective during feedback sessions after study or speaking activities. As a teacher, you don’t want to be the one who is constantly prompting students to speak and give feedback. Instead, take a step back, use an anchor and allow your students to do it on their own.
